Since the Grenfell Tower disaster in 2017, the topography of the active and passive fire prevention industry has changed (for the good) in many ways. Government has commissioned Dame Judith Hackett to produce a report on the failings surrounding Grenfell and her recommendations have been adopted en-bloc.

The human cost of Grenfell can never be repaid, but the Hackett report and subsequent legislation will, at least, serve to increase awareness of the criticality of fire safety products and strategies.
In essence, there is a drive to increase competence in all parts of the marketplace from the product suppliers, those who offer independent certification to those who design and build buildings. With this competence comes a greater veracity in the offer and the transparency of the technical parameters surrounding the supply chain.
At Halspan, we’ve always striven to meet this criteria. Our pre-tested door core offer has been in place since the company formed in 1999. Over the years we have refined and broadened our system such that fabricators can produce Halspan doors knowing that the technical bases are covered, not only by our extensive protfolio of product testing, but the wide range of 3rd party approvals that we have in place. Indeed, Halspan products are subject to an audit of some description most weeks of the year.
We are now embarking on the next generation of this hollistic product and technology offer. Our Halpsan Verified initiative is presented on the Verified platform – on-line.
Halspan Verified covers the entire door supply chain, ensuring every stage is compliant – from specification and supply of the complete system of door components (including door blanks, door cores, essential hardware and seals), to the fabrication of the door, and installation and ongoing maintenance of the finished doorset or door assembly – all using the Halspan Tracker asset management system…… the true system house package.
